Night to Shine 2024 Volunteer Registration

Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom experience, centered around God's love, for people with special needs 14 and older. The First Baptist Church of Waldorf has partnered with the Waldorf Jaycees again to have an in person Night to Shine on Friday, February 9, 2024. All volunteers must be 16 or older on the day of the event. Each volunteer opportunity is listed below with a brief description. BUDDY TEAM

Accompany and assist assigned guest throughout the evening, providing companionship and any assistance they may need during the event. Sit with their guest while they eat and engage with them in conversation.

SET-UP TEAM

Arrive at the designated time and execute event set-up, at the Old Waldorf School, red carpet, and main event space.

GUEST WELCOME & CHECK-IN TEAM

Welcome guests as they exit their vehicles and help them find their way to guest check-in.

Greet guests as they arrive at the guest check-in area. Sign them in and answer any questions they may have.

TEAR DOWN TEAM

Take down decorations, tables, chairs etc. and clean up event space including Old Waldorf School, Respite Room and main event space.

VOLUNTEER CHECK-IN TEAM

Greet volunteers, give them their name badges and direct them to their team leader.

FLOWER TEAM

Help with corsage and boutonniere production before the event. During the event, help guests select and pin on their flowers.

GIFT TAKEAWAY TEAM

Coordinate takeaway gifts. At the conclusion of the event, manage gifts and help each guest collect their favors to take home.

COAT CHECK-IN TEAM

Greet guests as they arrive in the coat check-in area. Label the coats and hang them. As guests leave, ask for their names and retrieve their coats.

RED CARPET TEAM

Assist guests as the exit the limos and handicap accessible vehicles and enter the red carpet. Manage flow of traffic and cheer them on to make them feel welcomed.

PARKING TEAM

Maintain a parking pattern and direct traffic for easy vehicle entry and exit. Maintain open fire and emergency lanes.

TRANSPORTATION TEAM

Coordinate guest drop off. Assist guests as they exit vehicles and help them find the registration area. Be available as guests return to their vehicles following the event.

Coordinate limo and handicap accessible vehicle rides between Old Waldorf School and the Jaycees Center.

RESPITE ROOM TEAM

Love on parents/caretakers by serving food, spending time getting to know them and being available to pray with them.
